Yahoo Sports Henry Cejudo Rethinking His Stance of Not Fighting in Las Vegas
Fifth-ranked flyweight Henry Cejudo made a strong case for himself being next in line to face champion Demetrious Johnson when he defeated third-ranked Jussier Formiga at UFC Fight Night 78 on Saturday.
“I believe Demetrious Johnson has fought the top contenders at flyweight. I’m an Olympic wrestler, a high-caliber wrestler. I have good defense. I’m 10-0 thus far, 4-0 in the UFC,” Cejudo said during the event's post-fight press conference.
“I believe I’m next in line. It’s up to the UFC, but I’ll fight whoever, whenever, minus maybe in Vegas.”

Johnson wants to defend his title on Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas, but Cejudo vowed not to fight in Sin City in protest of Nick Diaz‘ five-year suspension for testing positive to marijuana. With the title fight likely on the horizon, Cejudo is backtracking a little from his original stance.
“I believe Nick Diaz is, there’s due process going on. As that gets overturned, we can talk. Obviously, I’m not my own boss, but I’d have to sit down and talk to everybody from the UFC and decide what we’re going to do. But until Nick Diaz is freed, I’ll fight in Vegas.”
Diaz is currently in negotiations with the Nevada Athletic Commission to have his suspension reduced.
