Hemp wins WSL Player of the Month award
Lauren Hemp has been named October’s Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month.
The England international continued her scintillating start to the 2024/25 campaign by scoring two goals and registering two assists across our three league outings since the end of September.
Those impressive numbers have helped Gareth Taylor’s side to the division’s summit and remain unbeaten across our nine outings so far this term.

In our opening October assignment, she broke the deadlock in our 2-0 win over West Ham at the Joie Stadium when she kept her cool inside the area after collecting Mary Fowler’s pass to poke into the net.
Hemp then produced an industrious, crucial display in our win over Barcelona in the Champions League before setting up Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s first of two strikes at Anfield as we came from a goal down to beat Liverpool 2-1.

Another assist followed in our exciting 3-2 away win over St Polten in Europe before she was instrumental in our comeback victory over Aston Villa to close the month.
After the Villans had taken the lead at the Joie Stadium, she equalised with a classy lob before she produced a skilful run and teed up Jill Roord who bagged the winner.

Now, her displays have been rewarded with October’s Player of the Month gong – pipping Celine Bizet (Manchester United), Annabel Blanchard (Crystal Palace), Sophie Howard (Leicester), Johanna Rytting Kaneryd (Chelsea) and Nikita Parris (Brighton) to the prize.
Congratulations Hempo on being named Player of the Month!
