Robin van Persie’s sc Heerenveen have loaned in Jordy de Wijs from Fortuna Düsseldorf. The 29-year-old central defender arrives from the 2. Bundesliga club for the rest of the 2024-25 season.

The 29-year-old De Wijs immediately joins Robin van Persie’s selection as they carry out their training camp in Spain.

General manager Ferry de Haan was pleased with the arrival of the experienced defender in Friesland, saying in an official statement:

“After Pawel’s injury (Bochniewicz) we were looking for a left-footed central defender. Jordy is an experienced and physically strong defender. We are therefore pleased that we can have him at our disposal for the rest of the season.”

De Wijs, a former Netherlands youth international, started his career with PSV and has previously turned out for Excelsior, Hull City, and Queens Park Rangers.
