Heat postpones Thursday home preseason game vs. Hawks until next week due to Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton has forced a change to the Miami Heat’s preseason schedule.
The Heat announced Tuesday that Thursday’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks at Kaseya Center has been postponed because of the approaching storm. The Heat’s preseason matchup against the Hawks in Miami has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
NBA general managers continue to think highly of Erik Spoelstra, but not of Heat’s roster
“All tickets for the originally scheduled date [October 10th] will be honored for the rescheduled date of October 16th,” the Heat said as part of a press release announcing the news. “Refunds will be available at the point of purchase for any fans unable to attend the rescheduled date.”
The Heat opens the preseason on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against the Hornets in Charlotte. The Heat is then scheduled to fly back to Miami late Tuesday night before Florida begins feeling the worst of Hurricane Milton between Wednesday and Thursday.
With Thursday’s contest postponed, the second game of the Heat’s five-game preseason schedule will come Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans at 3:30 p.m. at Kaseya Center.
The schedule change then creates a preseason back-to-back for the Heat, with home games next week on Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs and Wednesday against the Hawks. The Heat then wraps up its preseason schedule on Friday, Oct. 18 against the Grizzlies in Memphis, Tenn.
