Sources: Hawks forward Mike Scott expected to miss four to six weeks

After a diagnosis of a broken left big toe, Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott is expected to miss four to six weeks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Scott has developed into an important bench performer for the Eastern Conference-leading Hawks and it’s possible that his recovery could extend into the start of the playoffs in mid-April.

Scott, 26, suffered the injury in Atlanta’s loss on Wednesday to the Denver Nuggets and was diagnosed with the broken toe on Friday.

Scott has averaged 7.5 points and 2.7 rebounds this season. A second-round pick out of Virginia in 2013, Scott signed a three-year, $10 million contract extension over the summer.

The Hawks are signing veteran forward Austin Daye to a 10-day contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
