It's Hard To Figure How Dumb Or Smart Is Chris Drury's Latest Move

Has Rangers Boss Chris Drury Been Watching Too Many Sitcoms?

You would think he's auditioning for Comedy Central – instead of wisely running a hockey club – with his latest move.

Call it cuckoo; like the bird in the Swiss clock.

Seriously, can you believe that the Blueshirts revered leader has dispatched my favorite Ranger, hotshot Brett Berad to Hartford.

His replacement may rank as the No.1 unknown in the system – 24-year-old Bo Giroux.

The Maven will say this. Giroux does lead the Wolf Pack in goals – 11 in 38 games – and his 19 points is runner-up on the team. Not exactly Connor McDavid stuff.

But why demote Berard who has only drawn raves for his hustle, intrepidity and ability to find the back of the net.

Former Ranger Sean Avery – he's become a keen analyst of Blueshirt moves – posted the following X-Ray on X/Twitter:

"This (dumping Berard) is the most idiotic thing I've seen out of this organization. Berard has been the most consistent and extra effort player on the roster since his call-up. It's absolutely pathetic.

"If they are without Chytil and Berard on the Bottom Six; it's a recipe for disaster."

The Maven agrees with Avery. Obviously the Blueshirt brass does not. Bo should get a chance to make them look good tonight.

In Vegas, the Rangers seek their long-awaited second straight win. It has been mighty elusive this season but now is overdue.

If you ask me, the New Yorkers have a better chance to do two straight with Matt Rempe in the lineup than Giroux.

Time will tell whether the addition of Bo is a wise one. It could be a colossal BOO-BOO!
