Hansi Flick yet to decide on starters in two positions in Barcelona XI for Super Cup final
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has decisions to make when it comes to two areas of his XI, for the upcoming Spanish Super Cup final.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
Barca, of course, are fresh off booking their spot in the The Supercopa de España showpiece last night.
After making the trip to Saudi Arabia, the Blaugrana put Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club to the sword by two goals to nil, courtesy of strikes on the part of Gavi and Lamine Yamal.
As much means that Flick’s troops are facing up to a finale showdown with one of arch rivals Real Madrid, or RCD Mallorca.
And, with a view to as much, Barcelona’s headmaster is continuing to debate over two specific spots in his XI.
As per a report from MD, Hansi Flick is unsure whether to start Wojciech Szczęsny and Gavi in this weekend’s Supercopa showcase, or return to the more tried-and-tested pairing of Iñaki Peña and Dani Olmo.
The former pair played starring roles against Athletic, with Szczęsny having been responsible for several important saves, and Gavi having notched a goal and an assist.
Both have therefore made strong cases to maintain their respective starting berths, leaving the Barca coaching staff with some tough decisions to make.
