Hansi Flick reveals if Barcelona will appeal his red card from Real Betis clash

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has spoken out on the possibility of his red card picked up on Saturday being appealed.

Barca were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip to Sevilla for a La Liga meeting with Real Betis.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana were forced to make do with a disappointing share of the spoils, after twice surrendering the lead en route to a 2-2 result.

Not only that, but, along the way, the aforementioned Hansi Flick was given his marching orders, owing to an incident on the touchline.

After a spot-kick was awarded against his side, Barcelona’s headmaster could be seen looking beyond frustrated, culminating in his first red card since making the move to Spain during the summer.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his dismissal was quickly put to Flick himself.

And the German tactician first explained:

“I don’t understand my red card. I didn’t say anything to anybody. I had a reaction, something I said to myself. This has never happened to me before.”

Pressed on whether he expects the Blaugrana brass to present an appeal on his behalf as a result, Flick concluded:

“I don’t think Barça will present an appeal for my red card. It’s fine.”
