Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is giving consideration to testing defender Alejandro Balde in a new role in the club’s next outing.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who suggest that the Spanish international could be afforded a place in Barca’s frontline in their return to action post-international break.

The Blaugrana’s next outing is scheduled for November 23rd, when they will make the trip to Balaídos for a La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.

And, in the buildup to the clash, personnel concerns are mounting for Flick and co. in the attacking third.

The Barcelona coaching staff have doubts about the readiness of Robert Lewandowski to feature from the off, whilst risks are unlikely to be taken with either Lamine Yamal, or Ferran Torres.

With Ansu Fati ruled out for a month, too, Raphinha and Pau Víctor stand as the only fully fit members of Barca’s attack at present.

And as much, as alluded to above, could yet culminate in a new face featuring in Hansi Flick’s front-three to face Celta Vigo.

As per Sport:

‘In this situation, one of the options that the coach is contemplating is to advance Alejandro Balde’s position.’
