Hansi Flick ‘put a stop to’ Barcelona star’s potential summer departure

New Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick proved decisive in assuring that a leading member of the club’s attacking ranks did not depart earlier this summer.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.

Frontman Lewandowski of course saw his name take its place front and centre in the media chatter leading into the summer window.

This came amid suggestions that, fresh off something of a hit-and-miss 2nd campaign in Catalunya’s capital, the Polish international could be moved on.

Safe to say, however, that the latest installation on the Camp Nou bench put a swift end to such a possibility.

Flick, a keen supporter of Lewandowski following their time shared stint together at Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich, quickly made it known that the 36-year-old is a central figure in his project.

As per a report from Relevo, in fact, the German tactician ‘put a stop to’ any possible sale on the part of the Blaugrana.
