Hansi Flick’s important feedback to struggling Barcelona forward – report
As has already been reported, Ansu Fati does not want to leave FC Barcelona this month, despite having had very limited involvement under manager Hansi Flick recently.
The Blaugrana have been trying to offload him this window in order to make room for Marcus Rashford’s arrival.
However, the La Masia product is not ready to give up and is determined to make the most of his chances to prove that he can be a valuable player for the club.
The Spaniard’s stance has not changed even after Flick left him out of the squad for four consecutive matches. Although Fati travelled for the game against Benfica, he did not feature in the match.
Key discussions between Flick and Fati
With his contract running until 2027, Fati wants to finish this season wearing the Barcelona shirt, as per Mundo Deportivo.
To that end, he has held several discussions with Flick to clarify his role and learn how he can improve his performance.
Ansu asked Flick for help and guidance on areas where he needs to improve, expressing his desire to stay until at least the summer. The 22-year-old was very pleased with the conversations, as he shared with those close to him in the locker room.
Flick assured the attacker that he values him but feels that, given his quality, he should be delivering a higher level of performance than he has shown so far.
The Barcelona coach’s message to Fati, delivered in an affectionate and instructive manner, was that he needs to lose the fear of failing and remove the mental restraints that prevent him from playing freely when given the opportunity.
Flick told him that he must play as he trains, with self-confidence, as he has shown in training sessions, where he has impressed with his skill and ability to create danger in front of goal.
Ansu understood this and is now committed to making an effort to improve his performance. He wants to prove that he can play in this team alongside the other young talents with whom he has grown up, such as Alejandro Balde, Gavi, and Eric Garcia.
