Football clubs are becoming more and more creative with how they reveal transfer deals in the modern age.

Back in the day a signing would only be officially confirmed with a press conference and a photoshoot, which could sometimes be fun, like when Juninho was unveiled to much fanfare at the Riverside Stadium.

Sometimes it led to odd scenarios. For example, Sheffield Wednesday announced the arrival of Benito Carbone in 1996 by getting to pose in front of the driest, least appetising plate of spaghetti you have ever seen.

With social media now being a huge focus for every football club’s marketing team, transfer announcements have become an absolutely massive driver of engagement on platforms like Twitter/X, Facebook and Instagram.

This summer bore witness to a few gems, so we’ve put together a few of our favourites here. Are there any we missed? Let us know in the comments below!
