Erling Haaland says celebrating our momentous Treble with supporters at a rain-soaked parade through Manchester city centre has been the highlight of his time so far at City.

And our star striker, who today penned a bumper new 10-year deal, insists our triumphs in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League that triggered that evening of celebration will always hold the most special place in his heart.

“Everyone was speaking about the Champions League and then to do this in the first season…you can't ask for more,” said Haaland on how special winning the Treble was.

“So that will be forever the most special season for me ever in my career.

“I just know it now already and to be able to be a part of this is something really special and I'm super happy that we actually did it because it's easy to forget. But this is something I will never forget.

“I will remind everyone around me to never forget that moment because it actually is such a big moment.

“For two and a half years, as a City player, I have been winning loads of trophies, playing lots of good football, having so many great moments together with the whole club and with the fans.

“I still remember the rainy parade - that's maybe the biggest or best moment because it was such a typical Manchester parade.

“So it’s been amazing and it's been like a dream these two and a half years. I'm really looking forward to what's next and for the future.”

Haaland is far more interested in collective honours than personal glory but that’s not to say that his exploits in that outstanding 2022/23 campaign didn’t delight him.

The 24-year-old collected the Golden Boot, the European Golden Shoe, Premier League Player and Young Player of the Season, FWA Men’s Footballer of the Year as well as a host of other awards too bountiful to mention.

He bagged 52 goals across the season all told – the most in all competitions by a player at a Premier League club.

The Norwegian also broke the record for most goals in a single Premier League season with 36, two ahead of prolific former strikers Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole.

It's a source of great pride for the hotshot as he admitted he’d love to get close to that top-flight figure again in the future.

“As well as the Treble it was also a record-breaking season,” he added.

“It was a special, special season for me in terms of goals as well, especially in the Premier League.

“To be able to score most goals ever in one Premier League season is special and I'll do everything I can to try to get close to the record in the future.

“It's not going to be easy. But it was a special thing and I'm really happy that I did it.”
