Eklund is dealing with an upper-body injury that he suffered against the Vancouver Canucks on Dec. 23. He took a brutal hit along the boards from Tyler Myers. Although he would finish the first period with a goal, he wouldn't return for the second and third.
"I wouldn't say we're super concerned," Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said of Eklund. "I think he's taking some positive steps. He's had three days to have a little recovery and we'll see how tomorrow goes."
Walman suffered his injury on Dec. 21 against the Edmonton Oilers, but the exact moment is unclear. He will miss his second straight game with this injury, but Warosfsky says Eklund and Walman are on similar recovery timelines.
"I would say they probably have similar timelines," Warsofsky said. "We'll see how the next couple days [go.]"
My goodness...

Timothy Liljegren will have a big opportunity. He is expected to run the San Jose Sharks' first power play unit.
"Guys gotta step up. [It is] another opportunity for some guys to play some bigger minutes," Warsofsky said. "The Henry Thruns. The Shakir Mukhamadullins, to play some meaningful minutes here and continue to develop individually," Warsofsky said. "Every team is going through injuries. Every team is going through adversity, and we're hitting a little injury bug right now. We got to push through."
