Your guide to Bellingham’s June events: trivia, farmers market, live music and more

It’s June, time to get out and do things. Here’s is a monthly roundup of Bellingham events, trivia nights and live music you won’t want to miss:

Trivia nights

Kulshan Brewing Roosevelt Taproom at 7 p.m. on June 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 1538 Kentucky St.

Overflow Taps at 6:30 p.m. June 5 and 19 at 2930 Newmarket St.

Culture Cafe at 7 p.m. on June 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 210 E Chestnut St.

Menace Brewing at 7 p.m. on June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 2529 Meridian St.

Stones Throw Brewing Co. at 7 p.m. on June 8, 15 and 22 and 29 at 1009 Larrabee Ave.

Cheba Hut Toasted Subs at 7 p.m. on June 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 306 W Holly St.

Live music

The Aslan Brewing Co. depot welcomes local artists throughout the month of June, including holding jazz nights on Tuesdays. For the music line up, check the schedule online. Aslan Brewing Co. is at 1322 N. State St.

Kulshan Brewing Company’s various breweries are hosting live music throughout the month of June. For the music line up and locations, check the schedule online.

The Blue Room, a live music and event venue regularly hosts live performers, including jazz nights, local artists, and improv nights. Tickets are available online in advance. The Blue Room is at 202 E. Holly St.

Events in Bellingham

The Bellingham Farmers Market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday at 1100 Railroad Ave.

The Paddling Film Festival and Pint Night on Thursday, June 8 at Kulshan Brewing Co.’s Roosevelt taproom will feature “captivating films celebrating the beauty of paddling highlighting,” as well as a raffle and beer for sale. Proceeds will go to Whiteswan Environmental, a local non profit organization that “supports community healing through the natural, cultural and historical restoration to the Salish Sea,” according to the event’s Facebook page. Kulshan Brewing will also donate $1 from every pint sold to the nonprofit. The event runs from 6-9 p.m.

Paddle with Pride on Bellingham Bay, a kayaking event will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. Participants are encouraged to dress in vibrant colors and must register online in advance for the free event. The kayaking will take off at the Community Boating Center at 555 Harris Ave.

The Bellingham Cheese and Beer Celebration on Thursday, June 15 at Aslan Brewing Co. will feature beer and cheese tastings from five local cheesemakers. Tickets cost $45 per person and can be purchased online in advance. The event starts at 5 p.m. and is at the Aslan Depot at 1322 N. State St.

The Fairhaven Chicken Festival is back for its second year and will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17. The event includes live entertainment, chicken-themed carnival games, marketplace vendors, exhibits and the chicken dance! The Chicken Festival is at Fairhaven Village Green park at 1207 10th St.

A Father’s Day Paddle event will offer paddleboards, row boats and kayaks for participants to take through Bellingham Bay on Sunday, June 18. Dads can ride for free, but all other participants cost $30 each and must register online in advance. The boating will take off at the Community Boating Center at 555 Harris Ave.

A Juneteenth Celebration will be hosted at Boulevard Park on Saturday, June 17 and will feature food trucks, activities for all ages, a live DJ and arts and crafts. The event runs from 2-6 p.m. at 470 Bayview Drive.

The Fairhaven Outdoor Movie Cinema will be playing “Top Gun” at 6:30 p.m. on June 24. The movie is the first of the summer outdoor movie series and costs $7 per person, or $8 with a credit card. Children 4 and under will be admitted for free, and concessions will also be available for sale. The movie will play at the Fairhaven Village Green park at 1207 10th St.
