'Guehi would cost too much' when Chalobah 'already on the books'
We asked for your views on Chelsea potentially recalling Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, or buying Marc Guehi from the south London outfit to try to help solve the Blues' defensive issues through injuries.
Here are some of your comments:
Osman: Signing Mark Guehi would help a lot. I'm sure he would quickly transform our defence because of his presence and strength. His timely interceptions are excellent as well.
Dan: Guehi would cost us too much and the club clearly wants to move on from Chalobah. I'm more interested in a more senior centre-back to partner Levi Colwill or Wesley Fofana when fit - like a Fikayo Tomori...
Wendy: We should get Chalobah back. Josh Acheampong showed he is a reliable player in central defence, but can also play at right-back. Chalobah is a good player. Seems pointless spending more money when we already have access to players.
Oliver: Would absolutely love Guehi at the club, but it feels unnecessary as we've just recalled Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors and Chalobah is out on loan and happy to return.
Brady: I would recall Chalobah as buying a player in January for a high price might not work well for us. We could get a better option at the end of the season. Why waste money when we have him already on the books?
Simty: Chalobah was a central defensive midfielder, who converted to centre-half and has often filled in at right-back. Given that Enzo Maresca likes his defenders to invert into midfield, what better option could there be?
Tammay: Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi should never start for Chelsea, injuries or not. Murillo from Nottingham Forest would be a great long-term solution.
