Irish advanced out of Miami’s Orange Bowl and Ohio State from the Cotton Bowl. Now they meet Monday, Jan. 20 for the crown.

Notre Dame has won eight national titles -- but none since 1988 under Lou Holtz.

Ohio State has won six championships, the most recent in 2014 under Urban Meyer.
