‘A great guy’ – Barcelona youngster hails Hansi Flick after win over Man City

An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Wednesday moved to reveal his appreciation for new head coach Hansi Flick.

As much, of course, comes fresh off Barcelona’s first public outing under the watch of their new headmaster.

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Blaugrana locked horns with Premier League champions Manchester City, in a friendly fixture in Orlando.

When all was said and done in an entertaining 90-minute affair, the spoils were shared in a 2-2 stalemate, before Barca held their nerve in an ensuing penalty shootout.

Amongst the goals at Camping World Stadium was Pablo Torre, who, after netting the winner in a behind-closed-doors meeting with UE Olot last week, followed up with his 2nd in two games, against City.

After previously being labelled a near-certain summer departure from Catalunya’s capital, Torre now all of a sudden looks like a player capable of playing his part for Barcelona over the course of the season ahead.

Post-match on Wednesday, the 21-year-old was therefore understandably keen to heap praise on boss Flick:

“Hansi Flick is very close to the players. We’re very happy with him. He seems to be a great guy. He hasn’t told me anything about my future yet.”
