Grant Fuhr And Lorne Henning Named Honorary Captains For 2025 AHL All-Star Classic
Grant Fuhr and Lorne Henning have been named honorary captains for the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic.
The 2025 AHL All-Star Classic will take place from Feb. 2-3 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
Honorary captains join the all-star teams behind the scenes and on the bench and are later celebrated at the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony.

A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Fuhr played in 23 games over parts of five AHL seasons with the Moncton Alpines, Cape Breton Oilers, Rochester Americans, and Saint John's Flames.
The 62-year-old played parts of 19 NHL seasons, winning 403 games, five Stanley Cups, a Vezina Trophy, and two Canada Cups. He has been a TV analyst for the Coachella Valley Firebirds since their inception to the AHL in 2022.
Henning played four AHL games with the New Haven Nighthawks in the 1972-73 season before going on to a 543 game NHL career that saw him record 184 points and win two Stanley Cups with the New York Islanders (1980, 1981). He then went on to win two more Cups with the team as an assistant coach (1982, 1983).
The 72-year-old has worked in various front office roles since 1981 and has served as a pro scout for the Seattle Kraken since the team joined the NHL.
