Grêmio set to sign Lille’s target Martin Braithwaite
Available on a free transfer following his departure from Espanyol Barcelone, Martin Braithwaite (33) will not make his return to Ligue 1 despite multiple rumours, as he has found an agreement with Brazilian outfit Grêmio, reports Foot Mercato.
Lille’s summer window is yet to properly get started, despite the €62M received for Leny Yoro’s (18) transfer to Manchester United. While Les Dogues have signed Ethan Mbappé (17), Ngal’Ayel Mukau (18) and Thomas Meunier (32), the offensive unit is yet to be strengthened. According to recent reports from Foot Mercato, Ludovic Ajorque (30) was one of the players on the North side’s shortlist but is now heading towards Stade Brestois. Braithwaite is now also set to slide between Lille’s hands, as he’s set to take on a new challenge in South America.
The top scorer of last season’s La Liga 2 with 22 goals in 39 games has decided to join Brazilian’s outfit Grêmio, according to Foot Mercato. The club based in Porto Alegre proposed a two-year deal for the Denmark international, who has been convinced by the club’s project and is now set for his first experience outside Europe at 33-years-old.
