After outgrowing its space, Actuated Medical chose to stay in Happy Valley’s Penn Eagle Industrial Park, collocating into a larger facility. The added space will help the company continue to grow as it expands its offerings aimed at improving patient outcomes with innovative and advanced medical devices.

“Our team has grown to 22 highly engaged employees who are passionate about improving patient outcomes,” President, CEO and Co-Founder of Actuated Medical Maureen Mulvihill said. On May 11, Mulvihill and her team welcomed guests for a ribbon cutting and tour at their new larger facility, calling the event a Celebration of Innovation with Impact. Guests were able to get an up-close look at the company’s next generation medical devices through product demonstrations.

The company more than doubled its square footage in the expansion, increasing from 9,000 to 20,000 square feet and collocating into one building.

“Actuated Medical has secured is location in central Pennsylvania with this expansion,” Mulvihill said. “It is a good place to grow a company because the workforce is hard-working and enthusiastic about making a difference. The area also has so many opportunities that help to attract and retain talent, like outdoor recreation, theater and sports. Many of these are thanks to its close proximity to Penn State, including unique educational programs for youth in science, arts and music. It is also a safe area to live, especially compared to some larger areas where talent might be looking at career opportunities.”

“With the added space, we’ll be able to expand our capabilities and offerings,” Mulvilhill said. “In addition to developing our own medical devices, we are now conducting contract services for other startup medical device companies.”
