Golden Knights' William Karlsson Announced Week-To-Week With Lower-Body Injury
Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson has been announced week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
The 32-year-old missed practice following the Golden Knights' 5-4 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues on Monday. The initial report on Karlsson was that he was absent due to maintenance but for the second time this season, an original report of maintenance for Karlsson will result in him missing an extended period of time.

The Swedish center missed the team's first eight games with an injury and missed another due to the birth of his child. Playing in 38 games, Karlsson has scored seven goals and 18 points, a pretty substantial decrease in production in comparison to last year where he scored 30 goals and 60 points in 70 games.
Sportsnets' Elliotte Friedman was the first to share the information that Karlsson is dealing with something more serious than the team was leading on. HC Bruce Cassidy told the media that the expectation was Karlsson would travel with them but the plan has clearly changed.
"Now there is concern that whatever lingering injury is bothering William Karlsson could cause him to miss the 4 Nations Face-Off. We should get clarity soon. Hopefully, everything works out for him."

The 4 Nations Face-Off doesn't begin until Feb. 12, 20 days from now but a week-to-week diagnosis tends to indicate that they are unsure of a timetable.
It's a major blow for both the Golden Knights and Team Sweden and terribly unfortunate news for one of the greatest players in franchise history.
