Golden Knights Utility Forward Sidelined With An Upper-Body Injury

Vegas Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy is sidelined with an upper-body injury and will be out tonight against the Vancouver Canucks.

The 27-year-old was given a maintenance day on Dec. 17 with the hopes that the day off would benefit him and he would be ready for tonight's game. Unfortunately, HC Bruce Cassidy said that Roy didn't respond to the day off as well as they had wished and are now considering him day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

The 6'4 centre and winger has scored six goals and 13 points in 31 games while playing up and down the lineup. He's played in the bottom six as a centre when William Karlsson was hurt and moved up the lineup to play with Tomas Hertl when the Golden Knights were looking for the right linemates for him. His versatility has been integral to the success of the Golden Knights.

Roy joins the injury report that consists of Ivan Barbashev; who is also day-to-day with an upper-body injury and Ben Hutton who returned to practice yesterday in a non-contact jersey.

With both Roy and Barbashev out, Cole Schwindt will re-enter the lineup and Tanner Laczysnki, who was called up from the Henderson Silver Knights will make his season debut.
