Golden Knights Prospect Named To Team USA's World Junior Roster

Vegas Golden Knights prospect Trevor Connelly has been named to Team USA's World Junior roster.

The 18-year-old forward will be representing Team USA for the first time at this event. He's previously represented Team USA at the U-18s, WJAC-19, and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Connelly won silver at the previous U-18s, but the expectation is for the American squad to repeat as gold medal winners.

The Americans won't have Will Smith, Cutter Gauthier, and Jimmy Snuggerud as they did last year, but Connelly, 2025 projected first-overall pick James Hagens, and New York Islanders' prospect Cole Eiserman are additions that should make the Americans just as dangerous as they were last year.

Connelly dealt with a lower-body injury that held him out of five games for Providence College but despite that, he is still among the leaders on his team with three goals and 11 points in 12 games, showing he has smoothly transitioned from the USHL to the NCAA.

Connelly is one of three Golden Knights prospects who will represent their countries in Ottawa. The other two are Mathieu Cataford for Team Canada and Tuomas Uronen for Finland.

If the Americans are going to be successful in this year's tournament, Trevor Connelly is going to be a key contributor.
