Golden Knights Hope To Have Roster Trimmed By Their Fifth Pre-Season Game
Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy spoke to the media and mentioned that he would like to have the roster trimmed by Thursday before they play their fifth pre-season game of 2024 against the Colorado Avalanche.
The roster is much thinner than it was at the beginning of camp, which is to be expected. The Henderson Silver Knights began their AHL training camp earlier today and are expecting to receive more players from the Golden Knights in the coming days.

The Golden Knights need to bring their roster size to 23 or less and currently, it's at 31 players and goaltenders, meaning eight cuts are to be expected if everyone is healthy.
Cassidy spoke about the plan for roster cuts this week.
"We'll be much closer to our team by Wednesday. That's kind of the final phase of training camp when you basically have your group. You're sorting out the last couple of spots and who's playing with who but you generally know who's here."
Making roster cuts are never easy and sometimes are motivated by business. Many times a young player could be outperforming a veteran but due to their ability to move up and down from the AHL to the NHL without waivers, it makes them the logical decision to be cut.
The Golden Knights have decisions to make involving Tanner Pearson's PTO and if any of their young prospects have proved to the coaching staff that they deserve to start the 2024-25 campaign in the NHL.
"I would think by Thursday's game we are going to start to see much more of what our lineup is going to look," said Cassidy. "It might not be all four lines and all six defensemen. It might be three lines and two defence pairs but they're all here at least. You're just sorting out the last bit."
The regular season continues to inch closer and the Golden Knights are looking to be as prepared as possible for opening night.
