Girona star in the sights of Napoli

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit Girona has made his way into the sights of Serie A giants Napoli.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Iván Martín as the player in question.

Martín, for his part, proved one of the star performers in Girona’s historic campaign last time out, featuring from the off in 33 of the club’s La Liga outings, and chipping in with five goals and four assists along the way.

With such stellar production, though, has come inevitable outside interest, with a number of clubs from across the continent having been tipped to launch moves for the 25-year-old across the summer to date.

And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, yet another has been added to the list.

As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano:

‘Napoli have added also Iván Martín to their shortlist for the midfield. He’s one more option being considered as Girona midfielder could be one to watch in the next days.’

It now remains to be seen whether the brass in Naples are willing to meet the no doubt considerable demands of their counterparts at the Estadi Montilivi.
