Girlfriend of Late Football Star Spencer Webb Celebrates Son Spider's First Birthday
Kelly Kay shared highlights from her son's spider-themed party on her Instagram Story on Saturday
Kelly Kay is celebrating a special milestone in her baby boy's life.
The girlfriend of late college football player boyfriend Spencer Webb celebrated their son Spider with a fun-filled party on his first birthday — which falls on Easter weekend.
Kay shared highlights of the festivities on her Instagram Story on Saturday.
Fittingly, the little boy's party had a spider theme, complete with black-and-white decorations, iced sugar cookies detailed with spider and web motifs and even a large mesh web display featuring printed snapshots from Spider's first year of life.
One image posted by Kay showed the toddler and another young party guest having fun with a ball pit. And judging by another photo she shared, the birthday boy needed a little snooze amid his celebration to recharge. "Mid party nap," his mom captioned a photo of herself lying next to Spider as he slept with a blanket and a pacifier.
Kay also reshared a friend's post featuring a collage of photos of Spider and captioned it, "My lil spidey man is already 1."

Just one week before Kay learned of her pregnancy news, Webb died at age 22 in a rock-sliding accident. Kay was at the scene of the accident, telling PEOPLE in April that her boyfriend "passed away in my arms."
Throughout her pregnancy, Kay says she was already referring to her little one as "baby Spider."
"I talked to his best friends about it and I didn't want to name him Spencer Jr. because I believe that Spencer is Spencer and that is his name and I don't want to take that away from him," she explains. "I think it would also be too hard on me to call him Spencer. So I was like, let's call him Spider. That's a badass name. That was his dad's nickname. It's still honoring him."
She also said that she plans to continue to keep Webb's memory alive as much as possible.
"We have pictures all over the house. We have so much memorabilia. And as he grows up, he will always grow up knowing who his dad is."
"I hope to send him to Oregon, and I know he is going to be D1. He's already nonstop," Kay said with a laugh. "We're both very athletic people. [I hope to] send him to football and just follow in Spencer's footsteps as much as I can."
"Even though his son and I are starting this new life with some trials and tribulations, we're going to make sure to live through Spencer's strength and guidance to make him proud."
