Gimme him: One player the Bears would steal from the Jaguars

The Chicago Bears (3-2) will be the home team in London this Sunday taking on the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) as they look to continue to build on their winning streak. After dismantling the Carolina Panthers, the Bears are starting to show production from all sides of the ball, and patience for this team is starting to pay off.

Their defense is among one of the best in the league and the offense, despite early struggles to start the season, has turned the corner and is starting to come together. As for their upcoming opponent, the Jaguars went 315 days between victories dating back to last year until they defeated the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5. This offseason, Jacksonville signed quarterback Trevor Lawrence to a five-year, $275 million contract extension, after he led them to the AFC Divisional round last year.

With their offense in flux and their defense atrociously bad, the Jaguars could use a big roster makeover. As is done every week, here's one player that would best fit moving from the opposing roster to the Bears roster: Defensive end Josh Hines-Allen.

Coming off an incredible 2023 season where he compiled 66 tackles, 17.5 sacks, with 33 quarterback hits, and one interception, Hines-Allen still feels criminally underrated among the best pass-rushers in the league. His 2024 hasn't put up the eye-popping stats, with just 15 tackles, two sacks, and 7 quarterback hits, but he would answer the Bears pass-rushing questions.

Imagining a defensive line in Chicago that included Montez Sweat, Gervon Dexter, Andrew Billings, and Hines-Allen would make it arguably the best defensive line in the NFL. It would no longer be a question to finding out who would be the second pass rusher opposite of Sweat, it would be a question for opponents as to who they're going to stop first.

While Sweat ranks second among highest-paid pass rushers behind Maxx Crosby, Hines-Allen comes as a bargain deal, only making $2 million this season. Despite not having the numbers on paper, Hines-Allen has a PFF grade of 85.2 in 2024, ranking ninth among all edge rushers.

Following Week 5, the Bears rank seventh in total defense across the league, allowing 294.8 yards per game, and are third in the league with 11 takeaways. They rank sixth in passing defense, allowing 174 yards, however their rush defense is currently 18th, allowing 120.8 yards per game on the ground.

Hines-Allen is one of the very best at his position across the league and doesn't get the credit he deserves for the production he's put up. With the defense taking the spotlight early on in 2024, he'd be more than a welcomed addition to one of the league's best defenses.
