Gills bring in Bolton midfielder Khumbeni

Gillingham have signed Bolton Wanderers midfielder Nelson Khumbeni on a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Khumbeni, 22, spent the first half of the season on loan to Gills' League Two rivals Accrington Stanley.

He scored once in 18 league appearances for Stanley, having had previous loan spells with AFC Fylde and Morecambe.

"I am very excited and cannot wait to get started," Khumbeni told Gillingham's website. "Whenever my chance comes I've got to be ready."

The midfielder is Gillingham's second new arrival this month after Crystal Palace's teenage forward Asher Agbinone moved to Priestfield on loan.
