Gary Lineker feels it could be getting to the point where people have to admit they were wrong about the Chelsea ownership.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over the club in May 2022 after Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government and much of the two plus years has been chaotic.

Chelsea’s owners have been heavily criticised since taking over in 2022.

Some of the criticism has been fair and of course mistakes were going to be made and Chelsea are now on their fourth permanent manager since May 2022, whilst Gary Neville famously called them billion pound bottle jobs after losing last season’s Carabao Cup final.

However, after a couple of difficult years on and off the pitch things seem to be looking up under Enzo Maresca, with the Blues flying high in second place, just four points behind leaders Liverpool and their expensively assembled young squad are really hitting their stride.

“Are we getting to a point now where we have to sit back and say Chelsea’s owners were right and we were wrong?,” he told The Rest Is Football.

It feels that after nearly two and a half years Chelsea are now at a stable point both on and off the pitch and have a really good chance of getting back into the Champions League and winning their first trophy under this ownership.
