Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu have won praise for their performances against Atalanta.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the duo’s displays as the Nerazzurri saw out a 2-0 win to move on to the Supercoppa Italiana final.

There were plenty of very eye-catching performances for Inter yesterday.

But the Nerazzurri also relied on some less flashy work to secure a convincing win over Atalanta.

In defense, it was yet another start for Bisseck. The German played on the right of the back three, with Benjamin Pavard still out injured.

And it was a mature, rock-solid performance by Bisseck.

Playing against Atalanta is never easy. It doesn’t just require physical presence, but also concentration and reading of the game as La Dea aim to pull the defense apart with their movement.

But Bisseck always read the situations well.

Meanwhile, Hakan Calhanoglu was also playing in a role where it can often be tough against Atalanta.

La Dea’s man-marking and high-tempo pressing rarely gives opposition holding midfielders much time and space on the ball.

But that was not a problem for Calhanoglu. He was able to operate in the space he did find, and set the tempo for Inter as always.
