Germany U21 Star Delighted With New Inter Milan Contract: “This Is My Home, I Always Believed In Myself”

After penning a new deal, Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck insists the club and the city of Milano have become his home.

The Italian champions announced that the 23-year-old has extended his contract with the club until 2029.

This also includes an adjustment to his salary which has been doubled from 750,000 euros to 1.5 million.

The Koln native considers the new contract as a sign of trust on the part of the management and his coach Simone Inzaghi.

“The contract extension means that the club and the coach have faith in me, and that everyone is happy with my growth,” said Bisseck in his interview with Inter TV via FcInterNews.

The German feels he has exceeded expectations since his arrival, even though he always believed in himself.

“I think I’ve exceeded many people’s expectations because I don’t think many knew me before I arrived.

“I think I’ve done a good job, I’ve learned from a tactical point of view, and I’ve understood what Italian football is like. Moreover, I learned the language. It’s been a really positive experience so far.

“However, I still have many things to improve, as I’m not a perfect player. I’m still young and I still have several aspects to work on, especially tactically and mentally.

“I think I’m at a good physical and technical level, but I have to grow mentally.

Yann Bisseck Feels At Home At Inter Milan

“I have always believed I could have a good career in football. My path has not been easy at times, but I have always thought I could do it.

“Now, I’m enjoying this beautiful moment for me and my family, I will try to continue on this path.”

The former Aarhus star paid tribute to his Nerazzurri teammates who made him feel at home since Day One.

“I didn’t expect to arrive at such a big club and find such special and helpful teammates. Often when you play with high-level players, those coming from smaller clubs don’t get the respect they deserve.

“Nevertheless, everyone at Inter helped me a lot, even the players who have the same role as me. Everyone was kind, and I felt at home from the beginning: now I can really say that Milano is my home.”

Despite his popularity among the fanbase, Bisseck still doesn’t consider himself a Nerazzurri idol.

“Maybe ‘idol’ is a bit too much, but I love these fans and the support they give us. Clearly, we are experiencing positive times, but I think they will always be with us.

“I hope they continue to appreciate my displays. I will try to repay them with good performances on the pitch and hopefully with some more trophies.”
