Former Inter Milan striker Jurgen Klinsmann believes retaining the title could prove to be a more difficult task than winning it last season.

The Nerazzurri won their 20th Serie A title last term by a landslide. They dominated the league from start to finish.

After beating their closest rivals Juventus in February, they found themselves on an open path towards their coveted second star.

In the end, Simone Inzaghi’s men sealed the title with five rounds to spare. They did so with a famous win over AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.

Nevertheless, Inter’s new campaign started on a relatively slow note. They only registered 8 points from a possible 15 in the first five rounds.

Therefore, Klinsmann warns the Nerazzurri of the growing competition for the title.

The 1990 FIFA World Cup winner believes that his former club will have a tougher mission this time around, with others improving their squads.

“As an Inter fan, I say that we can aim for another Scudetto,” said the German legend in his interview with TuttoMercatoWeb via FcInterNews.

“However, this time, it will be more difficult than in previous years.

Jurgen Klinsmann Believes Other Clubs Have Closed The Gap On Inter Milan

“Juve have had a good transfer market. Then there is Napoli, as well as AC Milan who are waking up.

“This is good for the league, as it has become more interesting.”

For his part, the former USMNT coach reveals he remains open to potential managerial gigs, hinting at a possible return to Serie A.

“I’m always open to any new adventure. My path has been fun and also out of the ordinary. I do miss an experience in Italy, so let’s see if the opportunity presents itself.”

The 60-year-old represented Inter between 1989 and 1992. He also spent half of the 1997/98 campaign at Sampdoria.
