George Kittle is active for Week 1.

San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle is active for Week 1 according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The tight end had been officially listed as questionable until Sunday morning thanks to a groin injury he suffered during training camp.

Kittle first sustained the injury midway through training camp, though he was able to return in time for the 49ers' final preseason game in late August. It was during that preseason finale against the Chargers that the tight end had a setback that kept him limited in practice as recently as Friday.
