GdS: Why Ibrahimovic praised the staff in his latest Milanello visit
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at Milanello this week, and the Swede had some words of praise for the AC Milan squad, and more interestingly, the staff.
There have been a lot of contrasting words for Ibrahimovic recently, and after suggestions that he would be present at Milanello last week, it was more criticism than anything else for him when he was reported as ‘absent’.
Nevertheless, it seems like this was a tactical move from Milan and Zlatan, with the Swede wanting to give more leadership to Paulo Fonseca, rather than undermining him by being in constantly. With the squad beginning to pick up results, it seems this could be the correct decision.
His main port of call during this visit was to offer advice to Rafael Leao, aiming to get him back to the player that won the MVP award a few seasons ago, rather than the one that lacks confidence right now. However, he also wanted to praise the staff.
As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera) states, Ibrahimovic wanted to congratulate the group on their recent successes, whilst giving the technical staff some ‘fine words’ for their work to better the team. Perhaps, an absent Ibrahimovic was the one truly required to give Fonseca the keys.
