GdS: Trincao, Silva and Leao exit – Mendes to play a key role in Milan’s business
Jorge Mendes could have a big hand in some of the operations involving Italian clubs in the coming weeks and months, and that especially applies to AC Milan now.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Mendes has ‘consolidated relationships with the major clubs’ including Milan, given that he represents star winger Rafael Leao and the new head coach Sergio Conceicao.
On Leao, the paper states that the player has asked Mendes to test the waters in view of the summer, even if for now the agent is keeping quiet on things and doing more in the background.
Francisco Trincao seems to have emerged as a target for the Rossoneri. The negotiation is linked to the possible exit of Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor, with the latter now attracting interest from RB Leipzig. Conceição would like his compatriot as a replacement.
The other hot name in the Gestifute agency (that Mendes heads) is Antonio Silva. At just 21 years old, the central defender has established himself as one of Benfica’s key men and now he is asking to leave.
Juventus were the first to come forward but Milan also appear interested if Fikayo Tomori – who has also been in Juve’s sights in recent times – were to leave. Mendes will return to Italy more often in the coming months, it seems.
