GdS: ‘Theo can leave’ – sale possible even with renewal as Bayern Munich lurk
Theo Hernandez’s future at AC Milan remains in doubt, despite the recent words from his agent stating that he wishes to renew and stay.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has a section mostly dedicated to Alex Jimenez and Milan’s plan to renegotiate the terms of the deal with Real Madrid to remove/change their buy-back clause.
They added a paragraph on Theo too, who has started the last two games from the bench but came on during the Verona game because of Rafael Leao’s injury. The Frenchman has so far seemed like a poor copy of the version we have seen, leading to Paulo Fonseca’s decision to give him some time out.
The paper writes that he has seems ‘disconnected, apathetic, not very concentrated’, with the benching having not had the desired effects, at least so far. If for Leao the treatment was an effective medicine, it is not having any benefits with his wingmate.
Theo’s future is in doubt even though his agent went to visit Casa Milan to discuss a renewal, admitting afterwards that he wishes to stay. Even if he does extend, the feeling is that Hernandez could still depart.
Faced with the right offer, the directors would evaluate selling the 27-year-old with Bayern Munich – who are destined to lose Alphonso Davies – already at the window.
