GdS: Reijnders renewal ‘very close’ but Milan will wait until the summer
Tijjani Reijnders bagged a brace in AC Milan’s 3-0 win against Empoli last night, showing all of his qualities in the fog at San Siro. As highlighted by a report, the Rossoneri already have a contract renewal for the star.
Having paid just €20m plus an additional €5m in bonuses to AZ Alkmaar in 2023, Milan’s signing of Reijnders was not just a bargain, but rather a theft. This was highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, stating that the midfielder is now worth three times as much (€60-75m).
Milan have already started work on the contract renewal and an agreement is ‘very close’, per the report. However, a renewal will only be formalised and announced at the end of the season, seeing as there is no rush to lock him down (the current deal expires in 2028).
So far this season, Reijnders has six goals and three assists, having already surpassed his stats in the 2023-24 season (four goals and four assists). There is no doubt that he’s the best Geoffrey Moncada signing to date and Milan have no intention of letting him leave.
The midfielder himself is also very happy, as highlighted by his father-agent, and there should be no issues with the renewal.
