GdS: No rotation before Leverkusen – Fonseca expected to use same XI vs. Lecce
After such an impressive performance against Inter, a report has suggested that Paulo Fonseca will not rotate his AC Milan XI in the game against Lecce, even with a big Champions League on the horizon.
Milan’s victory against Inter displayed several things that have not been seen this season. A team that fought for one another, fought for the coach, and above all, fought for the fans. Ultimately, a team that represented the Rossoneri spirit.
With such a performance, there are questions about how much can be changed from that team. Given Fonseca altered his tactics, there may be some additional time required to allow the squad to embed themselves into their roles, so making wholesale changes is unwise.
Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) looks to a famous saying in this morning’s paper – you can’t change a winning team, and it seems Fonseca will abide by the saying on this occasion. As a result, changes against Lecce are not expected.
There is one doubt – Strahinja Pavlovic is keen to return to the starting eleven, and he could displace one of Matteo Gabbia or Fikayo Tomori. Elsewhere there should not be any changes, and the starting four will remain the same with Fonseca’s experiment working fantastically.
