GdS: Latest on Pulisic’s calf injury as tests are scheduled – Milan’s hunch
Christian Pulisic was forced to leave the pitch 35 minutes into AC Milan’s clash against Atalanta due to an injury, which had the fans on the edge of their seat. According to a report, though, the feeling is that it’s a minor issue.
The American had a chance inside the first 15 seconds of the game, with the shot saved by the keeper, and he was moved between both flanks during his time on the pitch. Although he wasn’t given a rating in our player ratings, it’s clear that his exit made a huge difference.
As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), he left the pitch due to an issue with a left calf, more specifically a ‘hardening’ of the muscle. More tests will be carried out in the coming hours and if it turns out to be minor, he should just miss the Red Star game on Wednesday.
Milan will proceed with caution, though, as the muscle is delicate and there is no point in risking the American. For now, the goal is to have him back for Genoa and this means either Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Samuel Chukwueze will start on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, given the current form, even just one game missed for the American is a huge blow for Paulo Fonseca.
