GdS: Inter star has ‘minimal’ chance of making the bench against Milan

AC Milan and Inter won their semi-finals in the Supercoppa Italiana and will thus square off in the final on Monday evening. According to a report, the Nerazzurri will most likely be without one of their star players. 

Inter managed to beat Atalanta pretty comfortably in their semi-final, prevailing 2-0, while more effort was required from Milan to turn the game around against Juventus. In any case, we will have another Derby della Madonnina on Monday evening and it will be an important one for both sides.

Rafael Leao is still recovering from his injury and reports earlier today stated that he could play a few minutes off the bench. It looks like Inter will have a pretty big absence as well, with Marcus Thuram currently having a ‘minimal’ chance of making the bench according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

He sustained an injury in the semi-final and tests confirmed an elongation of his left adductor, though not a tear. Leao also suffered an elongation, so the recovery times are still pretty long and at best the Frenchman will be able to play a few minutes on Monday.

Mehdi Taremi, who also nearly joined Milan before he went to Inter, will start instead and it will be a very interesting game.
