AC Milan must use the international break to recover some confidence after a poor start to the season, and some news has already arrived in view of the Venezia game which comes next.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Milan hope that the break will allow Alvaro Morata to get back to full fitness, who was been sidelined since the first game of the season against Torino when he came off the bench and scored but worsened a muscle issue.

The Spaniard was not called up by Spain for their upcoming Nations League matches so he will will remain at Milanello to work, so as to definitively resolve the muscular problem that prevented him from taking the field against Parma and Lazio.

However, Morata might not be risked from the first minute against Venezia, also because Tammy Abraham gave good signs against Lazio in his first official appearance with Milan. The Englishman will most likely start against the Venetians at San Siro, while the Spaniard can come off the bench.

The important thing is to manage him carefully and get minutes in his legs in view of the subsequent commitments against Liverpool and Inter in the Champions League and Serie A, games in which Milan need him to be at 100%.

Morata’s recovery plan is going well and will continue during the break, with the hope of not having any setbacks. If Abraham confirms the good things he showed at the Olimpico against Lazio, the former Atletico Madrid man can recover a little more calmly.
