Gavi unveils photo showcasing extent of Pau Cubarsí’s nasty facial injury
Photos showcasing the extent of the facial injury suffered by Barcelona star Pau Cubarsí have come to the fore online.
This comes, for those who may have missed it, after the young defender was the recipient of a heavy blow during Barcelona’s most recent outing.
The Blaugrana were of course back in action last night, making the trip to Serbia for a Champions League meeting with Red Star Belgrade.
Whe all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops kept alive their stellar recent form, courtesy of an eventual 5-2 triumph.
Along the way, however, one source of concern was forthcoming, on the personnel front.
This came early in the 2nd-half, when the aforementioned Pau Cubarsí was on the receiving end of a kick to the face in the hosts’ penalty area.
The 17-year-old was left floored and bloodied by the blow, hooked by boss Flick and his staff as a result.
Cubarsí, it has since been revealed, required 10 stitches in his cheek to close the wound which had opened up.
And, as alluded to above, photos of the current state of the Spanish international’s face have since surfaced online, courtesy of teammates Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and more:
