Gauff and Keys schedule all-American semi-final in Eastbourne
Coco Gauff and Madison Keys set up an all-American semi-final on a busy day of action at the LTA’s Rothesay International Eastbourne.
In an impressive quarter-final performance, Gauff beat third seed, world No.4 and doubles partner Jessica Pegula 6-3 6-3 to book her spot in the last four.
While Keys was similarly impressive, overcoming rain delays to ease past the unseeded Petra Martic 6-4 6-1 and continue her quest for a second Eastbourne title, having triumphed at the event back in 2014.
Ninth seed Daria Kasatkina progressed to the last four, leading 6-4 2-1 when Carolina Garcia retired.
Camila Giorgi will be Kasatkina’s next opponent, taking the first set of her quarter-final 7-6(8) before opponent Jelena Ostapenko retired.

Francisco Cerundolo impressed in men’s singles action, easing past China’s Zhizhen Zhang 6-2 6-3 to reach the first grass court semi-final of his career.
The Argentine will next face Mackenzie McDonald, who battled past Mikael Ymer 6-4 3-6 6-3 to keep his campaign alive.
Eighth seed Miomir Kecmanovic was defeated by Frenchman Gregoire Barrere, who won 7-5, 7-6(2).
Barrere will now face second seed Tommy Paul in the last four after he defeated fellow countryman J.J Wolf 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(2)..
In men’s doubles action, Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram were defeated 6-2 6-2 by Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic.
