Pelletier, 18, had an .815 save percentage over nine games with the last place Olympiques this season.
Pelletier's play has taken a nose-dive this year, carrying the lowest save percentage of all QMJHL goalies to have played five or more games this season. Since the pre-season, Pelletier has yet to have finished a game with a save percentage of .900 or above.
Last season, Pelletier was a well-regarded draft prospect, thanks to his .875 across 43 games. He was the eighth ranked North American goaltender by NHL Central Scouting and The Hockey News' Ryan Kennedy had him ranked #87th in his final 2024 NHL draft rankings. Despite going undrafted, Pelletier joined the Calgary Flames for their rookie camp this summer before accepting an invite to join the New Jersey Devils for their camp in September. Given that, there's certainly upside to his game and he just might bounce back to form in Rouyn-Noranda.
That leaves Gatineau with three goaltenders in 2025 NHL draft eligible Kian Hodgins (.849 over 11), Iain Wintle (.853 over eight) and Nathan St-Pierre (.910 over five).
The Huskies will likely run with a Samuel Meloche (2025 NHL Draft eligible, .898 over 27) and Pelletier tandem, as Pelletier hasn't dressed much recently and Meloche leads all QMJHL goalies in games played this season.
