Gary Williams to return to Golf Channel in 2025
Paul Azinger isn’t the only familiar face returning to Golf Channel’s airwaves in 2025. On Thursday, Golf Channel announced that live morning programming will return in 2025, headlined by Gary Williams.
Williams, who co-hosted the original “Morning Drive” from its debut in 2011 until it was canceled in 2020, will host 5 Clubs on Golf Channel, which will air Monday-Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET and debuts Monday, Jan. 6.
Williams launched 5 Clubs and its podcast in September 2021, and produced a number of important conversations beginning with Phil Mickelson as the first guest and Grayson Murray and Brittany Horschel talking about their battles with alcohol. Williams will be joined by a variety of analysts and guests, as well as contributors of the 5 Clubs team, including former PGA Tour players and analysts Johnson Wagner and Brendan De Jonge, ESPN college basketball commentator and golf enthusiast Jay Bilas, golf architect Gil Hanse, former collegiate golfer Emma Carpenter, and SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio’s Taylor Zarzour to talk about the topics that matter most to golf fans.
Fairways of Life with Matt Adams will follow 5 Clubs on Golf Channel on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. ET.
“As a consumer of sports radio and television and for more than 20 years, and as a host of shows originating in the morning, I have immense appreciation for being in a position to initiate and drive the daily conversation in the game of golf,” said Williams. “We aspire to make 5 Clubs on Golf Channel the golf industry’s morning show. The way to achieve that is by having a wide lens on the interests of everyone who invests time into the game of golf. The daily pursuit of that objective is supremely motivating to me.”
