Games To Watch As The Boston Fleet Look To Attend To "Unfinished Business"

The season kicks off November 30, and the Boston Fleet is anxious to get underway and challenge again for the Walter Cup.

“There’s a lot to look forward to as we head into season two,” Boston’s GM Danielle Marmer said. “Last season, the playoff picture came down to the final game of the regular season, so there isn’t a game on this schedule we can afford to overlook. We have some unfinished business to attend to.”

The season will kick off on November 30 as the Fleet visit the Toronto Sceptres at their new home, the Coca-Cola Coliseum, in a matinee game. The home opener in Lowell will be on Wednesday, December 4 against the Minnesota Frost, a game which will surely bring out the raucous cheers as Boston tries to prove they are equal to the defending champions.

Another rematch (against the Montreal Victoire) takes place on Monday, December 30 at Place Bell. The two teams faced off in a tense semi-final series last season, which Boston won in three overtime games (including two multiple OT wins). This rivalry needs no further intensity, with Hilary Knight facing Marie-Philip Poulin, and the Green Monster Aerin Frankel against Canada’s Ann-Renee Desbiens in goal.

Jamie Lee Rattray commented, “I feel like our group really found a way to come together and play the right way as the year went on last season. Looking forward to hitting the ground running with a phenomenal group of people.”

The team includes several exciting draft picks, of course: Hannah Bilka, the leading scorer at NCAA Champion Ohio State University, and up-and-coming defender Daniela Pejsova whom the team traded up to acquire seventh overall at the draft.

After a team training camp beginning November 12, Boston will travel to Montreal for a mini-camp with Ottawa and Montreal, while Toronto, Minnesota, and New York will convene in Toronto for scrimmages and pre-season contests.
