Yahoo Sports Gamecocks add transfer portal edge rusher from SEC team
South Carolina has plucked an SEC EDGE from the transfer portal.
On Saturday afternoon, On3 reporter Hayes Fawcett reported that Missouri pass rusher Jaylen Brown committed to South Carolina. He is the first portal acquisition for South Carolina this year.
A former four-star prospect from Alabama, the 6-foot-6, 265-pound freshman EDGE played in just four games this season — his only in college football — recording just a pair of sacks. He comes to coach Shane Beamer’s team with four years of eligibility remaining.
According to Pro Football Focus’ grades, Brown ranked 25th among all Missouri defenders — including a below-average pass rushing grade of 55.2.
