Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Talulah Riley have announced their engagement.

Having first shot to fame as a child star on the silver screen with roles in Love Actually and Nanny McPhee, Brodie-Sangster later went on to play Jojen Reed in Game of Thrones.

Similarly, Riley starred in St Trinian's and Pride & Prejudice in her younger years before landing roles in Doctor Who and Westworld.

Taking to Instagram to share the happy news, Brodie-Sangster confirmed they're officially engaged.

Alongside a photo of the couple enjoying a ride on a punt boat, in which Riley looks out at the view while Brodie-Sangster steers, the actor wrote: "Happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged. Love is all around."

The news was met with surprise from fans, with one saying: "YOU CANNOT POST THIS OUT OF NOWHERE!" in reference to the fact Brodie-Sangster rarely posts on social media.

Riley also posted a sweet snap to her social media, confirming she'd been with Brodie-Sangster for two years before getting engaged.

Riley, who appeared alongside her new fiancé in last year's Pistol series, was previously married to Twitter boss and Tesla's product architect Elon Musk, whom she married and divorced twice.

Switching back to Westeros, Brodie-Sangster revealed that he'd yet to meet a Thrones viewer that enjoyed its eighth and final season.

"I was thinking the other day I should probably watch it again, because it was really good. I did really enjoy it. Lots of people really like it, except no-one seems to like the last episode or the last season. I haven't met anyone that likes it so far."

Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. House of the Dragon airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
