G-League star, former Lakers guard Andre Ingram wins more than $31K on 'Wheel of Fortune'

Still an active member in the NBA G-League, South Bay Lakers guard Andre Ingram shined on “Wheel of Fortune” on Friday.

Ingram won $31,750 on Friday’s episode of the iconic game show, which he was invited on as a guest for a Secret Santa episode.

Ingram, who is the G-League’s all-time leader in 3-pointers, missed out on the final puzzle of the night, however, which would’ve earned him an additional $39,000. Ingram didn’t actually keep any of the money he won. Instead, it went to a fan through the Secret Santa program.

“My mouth was wide open,” he told the Richmond Times-Dispatch before the episode aired. “Just seeing the set, then Pat Sajak and Vanna White ... surreal.”

Ingram said he started watching “Wheel of Fortune” with his parents when he was a kid.

“We were just watching one day and saw they were still holding auditions,” he told the Richmond Times-Dispatch. “I was like, man, we’re not going anywhere anytime soon. Why not?”

So, he made an audition video and eventually made it through to the show.

Ingram, however, couldn’t actually watch it air live on Friday night — as the South Bay Lakers played the Stockton Kings at the same time.

Ingram, 36, is in his 13th season in the G-League. He’s played for the Lakers’ affiliate for nine of those season, and famously made his NBA debut briefly during the 2018 season. The Lakers signed him to a 10-day contract, and he averaged 12 points while shooting 55% from behind the arc in their final two games of that season.

Ingram has made 826 career 3-pointers in the G-League, more than 200 more than the next closest player in league history.
